RFID stands for Radio-frequency identification. This is a technology used to store identifying information that is often attached to objects, like your passport, credit cards, or those red stickers you find in the back of new books. Its used all over the world for a variety of purposes.
These RFID tags can be scanned by security detectors, chip readers at the checkout, or the check-in at the airport. They can also be scanned by third party scanners doing data sweeps in order to perpetrate identify theft.
RFIDsafe is technology that we use to block these scanning devices and keep your information safe. We block the 10mhz-3ghz frequencies most common in cards and passports. Cell phones, car keys, as well as some security badges have stronger frequencies or power transmitters that are able to surpass this range and are not blocked by the RFIDsafe materiel.
